New York Women Voters are not a monolith. All women non-felon citizens in New York City are eligible to vote once they read 18 years of age. Some of them are liberal and will vote in the Democratic Primary. Some are conservative and will vote in the Republican Primary. Others don’t fit properly in either and are registered Independents. They all care about our country. They all want their voices heard. This is where we will hear them.
Raise Your Vote aims to be a place where all of these women are welcome. We want to create a space that covers the primaries specific to all female New Yorkers. It will be ideologically neutral and instead will pound the pavement and ask NY women: what do they want out of this election? Do they have any New York-specific issues that would be better solved by our next President than by our next Mayor or Governor? In addition to woman-on-the-street interviews, we will cover local political events, live-blog at least one event as well as aggregate coverage of national events that are relevant to our interests.
Raise Your Vote is a New York-centric political blog that doesn’t condescend to any woman.
