Rasa – Kama

“Priyamvada [aside].  Anasuya, ever since she first saw the king, Sakuntala has been terribly restless.  Perhaps he is the cause of her fever?”
In this excerpt you can see that Sakuntala and the king shared interest in each other.  After their first encounter their daily lives were disrupted.  The king strayed from his responsibilities, and Sakuntala experienced a chemical imbalance that was diagnosed as a fever.  This is where Kama comes into effect.  The Rasa emitted by their desire for each other was so forceful that everybody was distracted. Its almost like love at first sight with a chemical chain reaction that set off an entire village.
