The video I picked shows a summary in animated form. The characters depicted in the scenes are quite interesting and gives the story a good flow. Although quite different from a movie, this cinematic experience enhances the summary and makes for an interesting story.
The monster made my Frankenstein is actually a clean slate. The clean slate got dirty in the end because of the key ingredient Frankenstein forgot to add. In fact the monster was the greatest achievement of Frankenstein and a miracle in the from of science. The monster was able to learn on its own and adapt to changes in its ‘new’ life. He was able to learn through watching and listening. The important thing he learned was not just language but it was the behavior. Many people blame either the monster of Frankenstein for all the people the monster murdered. Going back, to the key ingredient that Frankenstein forgot—the love, is the most important ingredient. The way we are loved and the way we love is the goodness and the warmth that fuels us. That is not to say that if we are not loved that we should kill people; but the monster who had to learn everything on its own didn’t know that. Furthermore the monster not only was not loved by Frankenstein, but whenever he tried to be accepted into society he was rejected. The monster even asked Frankenstein to create someone else like him so that he wouldn’t have to be alone. This major hint was ignored my Frankenstein when he didn’t finish his second creation because it was too ugly. He judged the book by its cover and made the same mistake twice. The brutality of the monster was forged from rejection and the major absence of love. This simple yet crucial ingredient had the power to define this creation as a monster or not. The end result was it was defined as a monster—not really because of the way it looked but primarily because of the rejection and absence of love it faced and couldn’t handle.
