The Suisse Cut

One of the most amazing things about living in New York City is everyday there is something new to discover. You can discover something in places you have never been before or the hidden wonders that you pass by everyday. Just this past Friday my friend showed me one of the neatest things I have ever seen since starting at Baruch College in Fall 2011.

This past Friday evening, after another long day at Student Life, my friend and I decided  to head over to Argo. The Starbucks of tea. As we head out of Baruch to endure the snowy rain of Nemo my friend turns to me and says “Let’s take the short cut.” Looking rather bewildered I turn and ask what short cut he is referring to. “The short cut through Credit Suisse,” he says. I was shocked! Being that Baruch College is conveniently located across the street from Credit Suisse I pass it everyday. I had no idea that I was allowed in the building at all let alone walk all the way through to Madison ave.

Inside the building was absolutely beautiful. Marble floors, walls, columns. Paintings at every turn, arched ceilings, amazing detailing on the ceiling. At that moment my tea could wait. I felt like I was in a movie and I just found a hidden passage way to aid in my journey. All of the good that will come of this “shortcut”.  An escape from the rain and snow, as it was Friday, or that burst of cool air when the hot summer rolls around. All I know is that the next time I am at Baruch and I decide to head in the Madison Square Park direction I am taking the “Suisse Cut.”

Wow! Thanks for the share. I get out of the Subway right across from Credit Suisse almost every day. Time to make it my new shelter, rain or shine!
