I am neither an avid fashion blogger nor a fashionista, but I certainly do believe in developing your own individualistic sense of style in clothing. Normally I don’t ardently follow all the new trends, but I do definitely wear what I like each season under my tight budget. So, it must seem strange and ironic that I am, in fact, writing a blog about the recent New York fashion week. This is something I normally would not choose to devote any time and effort on.
But since I am still relatively new here, absorbing in different things, surroundings, exploring the city, following grand events, and experiencing everything that’s still new for me here, that is why I decided to check out the latest runway trends from the New York fashion week and be on the lookout for some interesting street style.
It is needless to say that New York is one of the fashion capitals of the world and it is pretty much obvious and expected that you would get to see a wide range of high-street and high-end fashion in this part of the world. Nevertheless, I still sometimes find myself amazed and awed by ingenious and bizarre outfits.
I absolutely adore how all people experiment and wear a lot of colors and layers here instead of making do with the conventional must-haves and ending up being homogeneous. I think it takes a lot of courage and creativity to do that.

Then, moving onto high-end fashion, here are the hottest new trends on the runway that I personally liked from the Mercedes Benz Fall 2013 fashion week at Lincoln Center:
While fashion guru Carson Kressley said that the significance of New York fashion week has increased over time, other people were of the opinion that this particular fashion week went by without the usual degree of hype and drama. And then, there were the usual important concerns that there still were not enough women of color in this fashion week and that all the models were still too skinny in comparison to the average size woman.
Overall, the main highlight of the fashion week was the grand opening and collection of Marc Jacobs’s show.
