Jimmy Fallon Studio Audience

I was very happy that I could write a free blog today because Monday night I went to be in the live studio audience at Late Night With Jimmy Fallon at the NBC building at 30 Rock. I had to specifically wait until today to post this because I wanted to write about it and I had to wait until it actually happened to blog about it. The show was hilarious. Jimmy Fallon on his own is very funny and the guests on his show were hilarious. He had a comedian named Artie Lange and he had some very funny jokes. His impression of Mike Tyson was hilarious. He also had the actress Alison Brie from NBC’s show Community, and she told us all some very funny stories about her show, her new neighbor, and her music career. She’s part of a cover band called The Girls. In addition, he had the band Tame Impala as his musical guest on the show.

The reason I was at this show was because my friend Kate won tickets to it and invited me to go with her. She chose this specific taping of the show because she likes this band and was not able to get concert tickets to see them live on Thursday night. She had special tickets that allowed us to be on, what they call “the band bench,” which is the crowd that’s sitting behind the band performing and is taped the most out of the whole audience.

Prior to the show starting to tape, Kate and I hung out in the NBC Experience store, which sells a lot of memorabilia from different shows that are on NBC, which include some of my favorite shows such as The Office (before Steve Carell left), and 30 Rock (which is unfortunately ending). I bought two The Office related tee shirts, one that says “Dunder Mifflin Paper Company” and the other that says “That’s What She Said,” which, as many people are not aware, was started by Steve Carell’s character Michael Scott on The Office. I also got some awesome fluffy slippers in the shape of peacocks with the NBC logo as the tail. They’re huge and my mom told me I was 9 years old, not 19, when she saw them. I also got to take a picture with a minion from Despicable Me, the animated movie, which is one of my top 5 favorite animated movies. The minions are my favorite animated characters ever. The minion was at the NBC store promoting the movie Despicable Me 2, that’s coming out later this summer. I also got a free teddy bear with my purchase of the slippers and the tee shirts.

I had a psychology test Tuesday morning and I stayed up really late to see the show air on NBC at 12:30 in the morning and stayed up to watch the whole thing. The next morning, I was barely able to get myself out of bed and drag myself to school to take my psychology test but it was definitely worth it because I freaked out every time I saw my face, even if it was for a quarter of a millisecond, on the screen. It was one of the most fun days I’ve had in a while.
