Working with Makey

Working with the Makey Makey really brought out the creative side of everyone. Even though we had little to work with we were still able to come up with things so original and outside the box. My group’s idea was to create a way for everyone to be “grounded” and be able to take up as much space as possible. We wanted people to be able to play a program by cooperating with each other in a spacious environment. However, combining our idea with another group expanded our thought process even further. This allowed us to think of an interactive “dummy” where one may take out their stress on. Our idea was to make an object that resembled a person and install sounds depending on where the object is hit. If we were to take it another step further, we thought of throwing other objects instead of simply punching and kicking the “dummy.” The sound that is produced would depend on the object thrown. This would have worked a lot better if we had the bluetooth technology to allow this interaction to be possible and that’s what I would like to use if we had another chance to work with the Makey Makey. In relation to writing a paper, I think that they both have the same thought process and outcome. You start with one idea then,  you just start to throw more and more ideas until, you create one that you feel really interests you. You then realize you have a completely different paper that you never thought you could write. I think the Makey Makey should be more public to help other students with unlocking their potential and creativity.
