The Makey Makey session required immense amounts of not creativity but well thought-out planning and desire. Like writing an essay, one does not need to be creative when picking a thesis. One must pick a thesis because he/she has a strong affiliation with the thesis. During the session our group stumble upon a “block”. This “block” occurs when writing an essay as well. The “block” we encountered during the session was the failure of our original plan/design and the requirement to think of a new one on the spot. Similar to writing an essay when one’s thesis fails then it better to complete start from scratch. To recollect one’s thoughts then on what one wants to accomplish instead of just wanting to get the paper done. The “block” does not just occur during writing and working with the Makey Makey. It could occur anywhere. Whether it be a calculus problem, computer programming assignment, presentation, or exam. This “block” is the pinnacle of evil; standing in our way at ever turn. To defeat this “block” one must understand the importance of their work. To approach it calmly, without impatience but instead play with it until it reveals itself to you.
There is a solution to everything. Sometimes the best option is to take a step backwards. If your paper is weak it may be that your thesis is weak. You may even have to completely change your thesis but in doing so it has placed you on the right track to your goal. We learn from our struggle and I believe that the Makey Makey session has enlighten us that no matter what struggle we may come across there is always a solution. Deep within ourselves we know what to do but it is chained by our resolution to not change. We have to accept that our work is incomplete/poor and work with our options whether it be more works.
