MaKey MaKey

Before using the MaKey MaKey I really had no idea what this little keyboard could do. At first I did not think it could do much considering it looked like a Nintendo 64 controller, and it did not look like one could connect enough wires to it for it to do anything worth while. I can obviously say I was wrong there. The MaKey MaKey made me literally feel like a kid going to a science center to try out the cool gadgets the scientists presented in front of me. The amount of things one can perform using the MaKey MaKey in endless, and how using simple house hold objects as controls makes it that much more fun. My group was experimenting on using the MaKey MaKey as a gaming controller starting with the game Frogger that only requires basic controls to finally a 15 piece puzzle that required complex controls. Setting up the controls and figuring out how they would be placed and used pushed my group to think of creative ways to make the gaming controls work in a proper but new way. Using this keyboard can allow people to start something totally new and completely original that maybe actually used by the general public in the future. The MaKey MaKey allowed us to start from a very basic set up allowing us to skip the building the hardware stage and let us jump right into creating whatever was on our minds. From graphite controls to Play Doh balls being used as the mouse. This keyboard is awesome and i believe people will start to see things being created by using the MaKey MaKey. Of course this is fairly new so things would not be seen for a few years but I do believe something innovative will come from the MaKey MaKey. As a final note I would like to point out (and I thought of this just now writing) that we have this device in our hands that barely anyone knows about and that seems very New York City to me both in the cool way and hipster way.
