April: National Poetry Month

April is celebrated as national poetry month throughout every school in the country and as a student of these schools, I would often dreaded it. Why? Well, for me, poetry is rather difficult to accurately interpret at times; each word of the sentence and structure of the poem would have multiple meanings. Just the thought that there could be so many meanings possible to a simple poem gives me headaches; I guess I have a preference for single answers over multiple ones.

Given that, in this month, we will be working with poetry, I pray that the works we will be working with are NOT too difficult and open ended. Though if they were, I would hope that my classmates could hold me up on the interpretations of the texts and that the work associated with the poetry is NOT too difficult.

I guess that I will give poetry month one last shot as, well…this is probably the last time I’d have to do it. Anyways, time to read those poems.
