I moved this weekend to my new apartment which fit my budget perfectly and
is also much bigger and closer to school than my old apartment. I feel like I have been a bit of a nomad since my time in New York, never fully settled in one place. I lived in New York for a few months last year, then lived in Trinidad for a month, then a few more months in my old apartment and now I am in my new apartment. I have never felt fully settled in New York, but is that a quality of New York life that people love?
New Yorkers ultimately want to live in Manhattan as this is the most famous of all the boroughs and is the centre of everything. However to afford living here is a huge burden on your pocket, which is the reason my roommate and I spent every moment we had apartment hunting. We were able to find a perfect place but another person submitted an application before us. For an entire week we were depressed until we heard news that the other applicants did not get it and we were being considered. We were finally able to move in this weekend and were extremely tired from dismantling and then reassembling all our furniture. Our apartment finally looks like a home now and I hope it is becomes somewhat permanent.
