Today, I had to attend the Rubin Museum prior to the reading; it was a nice experience, learning more about Buddhism and the sort. As for the reading, it was a nice experience as well, though, the walk to both wasn’t as enjoyable. At the reading, I stayed for a few readers, then I had to leave early as I did not want to be stranded in the city under the rain. Of the readers I heard, I could say that there were a lot of different kinds of readers there, all of which, attended CUNY’s.
For the most enjoyable person I saw read aloud, it was done by a fellow by the name of Johnathan.(?not sure) He put on a rather entertaining act concerning the one and only “primordial goddess”. It was just an act you don’t see everyday and it was just a complete change of pace from the other readers. The other readers were MFA students(?) and were all reading poems or excerpts from their own books and works. In conclusion, I’d say that it was a rather enjoyable experience to enjoy and I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy all of the readers.
