It’s been pretty hard to come up with blog ideas recently since we have been posting here for such a long time already. We have discussed so many different poems and prose of different style. They all were different. Each and every one discussed a different concern or narrated about a different place. We talked about economy, architecture, childhood memories, personal relationship, observations about the city, commutes to work etc. It’s hard to believe that all those different at the first glance and not related to one another topics are all about one city – New York.
After living here for two years, I thought I knew a lot about the city but in this class, I realized that this assumption was wrong. I’ve found out so much about New York, opened my eyes to so many things I never noticed before. All the readings made me pay closer attention to places I go to, to people I see everyday, to events that are happening around me. They made me start writing my own short stories about the beautiful megapolis.
I learn to be a New York writer from New York writers.
