So instead of choosing a poem for this project I decided to choose a song that has a lot of creativity and meaning behind it. I don’t want to say what song it is yet because I don’t know if its approved or not. However, after listening to the song a couple of times I have a lot of ideas regarding what to add to my presentation. I was thinking of walking around the city with a camera and capturing different scenes that portray to the song. I don’t want to make a music video for the song instead, capture different scenes that apply to different lines in the song that convey a message The song I’m hoping to use talks lot about equality and with so much diversity in the city, its a great place to capture some shots. The only problem I’m having is using another type of media because as of now I only have footage of people but I don’t know what else to add. Technically adding music is media but since I’m doing my project on a song I don’t think it really counts. Maybe Ill incorporate another song or use different words to add to my project.
After seeing the example on Monday, I want to incorporate some type of message that doesn’t use words and keeps the viewers guessing. I liked the way they used silence and subway to convey their message. I have a lot of ideas on what to do but I have to narrow it down so I can keep it simple but make it nice. Like I have said before, since my song talks about equality towards each other I want to use footage of random people that I see and maybe a couple of them holding signs saying “equality” and different lyrics from the song. This is just the beginning of my video and I still have a lot to add. If anyone have ideas that I could use for my video, feel free to comment!
I think you can use another song or instrumental. Seems fine to me even though it’s a song that you’re writing and making a video about. Or maybe even simply the instrumental from the song you’re going to use.
