I had to choose a different poem than my original choice, which is making things a lot harder when it comes to deciding how to approach my digital essay. I feel like these poems have switched problems for me. For my first choice, I was so sure of my digital essay, and not so sure of how I would approach the paper. For this poem, I’m mostly sure about what I can write, but really unsure about the digital part. I don’t want to do something obvious, but nothing so weird that no one will understand it. I was thinking of doing a short video of the “weird” or “different” things around NYC and maybe where I live. For example: weird flowers/people/objects. Also, I want to record interesting things that we don’t see every day. For example, people that we would deem strange looking. Most importantly, things not easily identified. I want it to contain things that make you think for a second, “What is this that I’m looking at?” The point I want to make is that everything and everyone is different and I want to demonstrate that in my video. There are people who don’t conform to society’s view of how they should as well as natural wonders of nature distorted. I’m not exactly sure if I’ll stick with this idea, but that’s what I have so far. All feedback welcomed.
