^Link to the video I made…It’s probably not that great since it is one of the first few I’ve done, but I hope you enjoy it.~
For this final paper, I set out to really analyze the poem “Black Art” by Baraka, as a political device in art form, expressing extremely violent revolutions in support of the concepts of Black Nationalism and Black Supremacy. It really struck me how, compared to his peers, Baraka was very controversial and different in his approaches and philosophy. Baraka would use literal and simple language to convey his ideology as how to how fix the problem of racial inequality. However, he also addresses other aspects of the time such as other ideologies and controversial topics of the time. (These would include homosexuality and other approaches through civil disobedience.)
Now, you may ask, why the eggs? Well, first off, they were the only things that were categorized in my fridge when I looked for ideas as to constructing a video in regards to my video. I was going to play in reverse, my cooking of the eggs, but that would have taken much too long… So instead, I played the clips of me cracking open these seemingly different eggs in reverse; two normal ones along with a preserved duck egg. Obviously, the duck egg is not really black; the preservatives and fermentation caused it to turn black, but if it weren’t, it would really be the same as the other eggs. So, I’d just like to say that, like eggs, people are really the same, it’s just the situations and circumstances that they live in that really make them different from one another. This would include race and other physical features. So, all in all, like eggs, people really aren’t different from one another…or are they?
