Ambiguity

In my logic philosophy class, we’re always talking about how English is ambiguous. I’m starting to see why the professor says this constantly. When you combine the ambiguity of English with the confusion of poems, you’ll have a headache. I’ve never been the type of person who understands things just like everyone else, which I consider a bad thing. I find a weird meaning to things, and everyone else finds the obvious and true meaning, and I’m like WHAAA?? This poem was no different. I’m not even sure if I have a thesis.

How I’m feeling when I think about writing this paper

I usually don’t do outlines (except for last semester since we HAD to do them) but I felt the need to start one for this paper. I am having a creative stump, block, dead end, call it what you want. I actually felt more freedom with the first assignment because I was in charge of what I was going to do. I like being the boss. Don’t get me wrong, I like a little direction, but when you ask me to do a close reading of a poem (which I’ve never done before) you won’t get a good first draft (mine was HORRIBLE) from me. I hope to only have to spend a few days of my spring break torturing my brain while I attempt to REALLY get into this. I guess that would be the exciting part cause every once in a while our brain must suffer through torture in order to improve and learn.

I am going through the same issues! I’m question if my thesis statement strays from the overall meaning of the poem and I’m experiencing intense writers block as well. I know our brains will have an intense moment of clarity though (fingers crossed)!!
