Iv lived in New York my entire life but Iv never been to Brooklyn. With all this talk about the Brooklyn Bridge and New York, I decided to see it for myself this weekend. I invited a couple of my friends and we went to see the Brooklyn Bridge and ended up walking around in Brooklyn. Brooklyn was much nicer than I thought it would and the people there were very kind. We ended up going to a thai restaurant on Montague Street called Lantern Thai. For those who like Thai food I highly recommend this place. Iv been to many Thai restaurants and this place was by far one of the best and it was affordable. After we all decided to walk around and just go sight seeing. We went to a park nearby and had the most beautiful view of the sunset and the bridge. We kept walking around the park and saw the Statue of Liberty and empire state building. What I found really cool was the fact that the Freedom Tower and I were separated by a small body of water. I felt lke I could swim to the other side and end up being in the city.
I didn’t get a chance to walk across the bridge but it was definitely a beautiful sight to see, especially in the night when the bridge lit up like the stars in the sky. I find it funny that it took 20 years for me to actually go to Brooklyn. The neighborhood I went to was very nice and I even contemplated moving here one day. When I first thought of Brooklyn I believed the typical stereotype of Brooklyn being dangerous but my trip definitely changed my view . I definitely have more of a appreciation of Brooklyn and New York itself. I’m definitely making a trip back soon!
