Annotation: We all know that climate change has become a greater issue for the world that we currently live on. This article mentions the plans/actions that are to be taken by certain powerhouse nations in reducing the emission of greenhouse gases and overall pollution to help avoid our planet from dying down. I believe that this article is accurate because it stems from the meeting of diplomats from 167 countries who gathered in NY to sign the climate accord, with their intentions on how to further eliminate their status as greenhouse emitters. I believe that this topic is relevant because it is a an issue that is not well-known by many, because it is something that we cannot physically see, so it is important to stress the fact that this is a real issue. In my opinion, this source is of sufficient quality because of the fact that it is separated by specific countries and their planned action sin tackling the problem of climate change.
I think this is a very good article in terms of saying what different countries are going to be doing about climate change going forward. Like you mentioned in your paragraph this is very relevant since the original meeting occurred in December and the agreement was signed in April. It’s also useful because it is divided to show what the major global players are planning on doing, so it gives a more in depth look rather than just making a generalization about what most of them are doing. This is a good source to tell what are some of the possible solutions that are already being put in place which can help you create your own solutions.
This is a great article and I remember passing it by on my phone. Climate change is definitely a major problem in this world, and I believe it will be something we have to address in our lifetime. This is a first step by many nations around the world, however it is also possible for them to go back on their words. A meeting of diplomats does not make certain that their nations will keep their word. I am interested in what kind of solutions you will be writing about in your essay.
Yes, I agree, this seems like a viable source. It’s always good to have a clear overview of options. In your essay, you might want to limit your scope, however, but this is up to you. The broader your focus (to a global level, for example) the more of a challenge it will be to get specific. Just something to think about.
