This is an article about the War on Drugs from the US edition of the British paper, The Guardian. It speaks about how the war on drugs has failed to yield positive results and its results are actually negative. In order to support her points, the author uses data from a study published in the British Medical Journal which shows that drug prices have been decreasing while drug purity has increased. It also uses some data from a study published by The Brookings Institute which shows the effect of the war on drugs on incarceration rates. This is a quality source because The Guardian is a widely regarded and trusted newspaper. Also, it uses data from two trusted sources, the British Medical Journal and the Brookings Institute, which means that any claims that the article makes are backed up by accurate data. The data is also relevant since it comes from a study published in 2013 and one published in 2015.

I also agree that your source is quite relevant and credible. It is good that the newspaper itself uses other credible sources to prove it’s own points, and I think your essay will be impact full if it has these statistics to go by. For your essay I think accuracy is important since you are tracking the results of the War on Drugs.

Yes, the source looks like a good one, and your topic is, of course, quite viable. It seems like it could be a bit broad, at this point, so you might want to think about this issue on a more local, or localized, level. In other words, how is this issue affecting New Yorkers (or some other geographical location). To look at the nation as a whole would be quite a challenge for this short paper.

This seems like an interesting topic, talking about the war on drugs in the U.S., and using a source that is an edition of the British paper. Knowing that you have a lot of information from studies, your essay will be full of information to back up your thesis, which is great.
