The article “I Worry About Muslims” addresses the concerns of radical Islam and how it affects the moderate population. It is in the hands of these “moderate” Muslims to speak up against all the wrong others have done. The author mentions the murder of his friend, who was possibly killed because of Islam. This goes to show how authority is abused by radicals, who want things to be adhered to their ways. The tone of the article appears to be scornful as Hanif questions who is seen as a “good muslim” and how unjust the murder of his friend is.

I wrote about the same article as well. I agree with your statement regarding the way radical Islam affects the moderate population of Muslims. I also think the murder of his friend Sabeen Mahmud, is a perfect example of how authority within the Muslim community is being over used. However, I’m not sure if you mentioned whether or not you see the presence of authority or authoritarianism in article, or even both and I would’ve loved to read about your point of view.
