The people who made this video, Chipotle, had a main target audience of people who eat meat. The message is to tell the people that this company uses natural ways of raising and feeding its animals. The format of this video is somewhat original. It goes from the farmers changing by using factories to changing back to farming originally. Chiptole made a great choice by using animations and playing calm music in the background. This attracts the audience because animations aren’t commonly used in commercials. This video shows that the company is different from many others.

The ad clearly shows a bitter reality of how animals are injected with steroids when they are transferred to the sheds instead of those typical farms, which can cause serious harm to the meat lovers. It may seem nothing to the livestock business owners to inject steroids for the quick growth of animals in order to earn larger profits in short time span. But, in long run this is the reason behind many diseases including: breast cancer, vascular diseases excess supply of hormones which could even lead to death. Nutrition is eroded away by these steroids which are required by our body. However, there should be some quality checks after each process like from growth to slaughtering and then to final consumer to see whether or not it is healthy and meet the standards or not.

As you read this, another innocent animal is being abused, neglected or for any ritual reasoning such as dog fighting, puppy mills, animal hoarding, factory farms, horse slaughter and other animal issues. Factory farms dominate the U.S food industry, employing abusive practices that maximize agribusiness profits at the expense of the environment, our communities, animal welfare, and also by putting human health at risk by using antibiotics on factory farms. These animals are raised in an extreme painful confinement thus they are regarded as commodities to be exploited for profit. They are bred to grow unnaturally fast and large for the purpose of maximizing meat, egg, and milk production and other related production for the food industry. The factory farming industry puts an incredible strain on our health and natural resources, which pollutes our land, air, and water. Animal cruelty is a serious problem, unlawful and unethical though there is no fruitful laws pertaining to the issue, the first step to create a positive change for these animals is recognizing the cruelty that threatens them by amending strict enforceable laws to ease up the pain a bit because they are living creatures just as us and they aren’t the only one being affected we are also being involved along the process.

My group focused on a chipotle advertisement like their group. I believe the messages of both video advertisements were similar because they both raised awareness of animal cruelty. The difference between theirs and ours is the vibe it gave off from the music. Theirs was peaceful and a tad bit exciting, while ours was creepy. They both had an ending where Chipotle presented a solution to the issue of animal cruelty.
This is a really interesting ad, and you all made some very important comments about the intent of this ad. You discussed some important background (confirming the validity of the ad, and it is especially interesting, in light of the problems Chipotle has had recently with food poisoning issues) and you discussed some specific points such as the use of animation and the kind of music. You all made intelligent observations, but work to see what kind of specific details are actually working here, and why these details were chose for a specific demographic. We’ll discuss this in more detail in class, so look again at your ad and see what more you can discuss on Wed.
Nice choice for your ad!
When I first started watching the video, I wouldn’t have been able to quickly guess that this is actually a Chipotle advertisement. I agree that the use of an animation makes it more mellow and different since one wouldn’t expect an animation to address the issues these certain issues. I found the ad’s choice of music quite interesting since Coldplay’s The Scientist is about analyzing a broken relationship. However, I think with the controversy surrounding the company, the song fits. Overall, I found this choice and the message being addressed fascinating.
