Those who bear the least responsibility for climate change tend to suffer the worst.

This photo shows an aerial shot of Ejit in the Marshall Islands. Camille Parmeasan, an ecologist for the CNRS Ecology Station says, “There’s increasing evidence that many Indigenous communities that do rely a lot more on the natural systems for their food and their livelihoods are not only the most exposed, because those natural systems are being very heavily impacted, but they’re the most vulnerable because often they’re there in areas with high poverty or poor access to health care.”

If you’ve heard of these islands, then you might be familiar with the Atomic Bomb testing between 1946 and 1958. So, not only has this community been impacted by nuclear waste, but they are also now fighting for their land.
