Nowadays, there are many kinds of theatre. Hamilton, who is a very important person in history of the United States, is in the theatre. Probably, people can guess that theatre is related with historical person might be serious. But, theatre “Hamilton” by Thomas Kail and starring Mr. Miranda is different. Even there are more many historical important people such as Washington, Jefferson, Madison, the show is consisting of rap, hip-hop, R&B ballads. Like some culture has been changed by time, theatre is also changed to be adapted for people by different time. Who knows that someday theatre is performed like different ways that is performed by robots or something like that.

It was my first time to have a scavenger hunt in my life. I was worried before when I read about scavenger hunt because I don’t know well about Manhattan’s map.  And at that day, weather was also raining. I expected little that scavenger hunt would be canceled. But, all of us went out for that. Our group had a different plan while other groups were going out. We stayed in the class, and checked the lists’ locations for few minutes. I think that it was great plan. We found locations, and we were split. I was going out with Bektosh for down town. We found a place of Theatre club which is funded by Edwin Booth and Mark Twain near our school and then we found Union Square Theatre which is for Famous Vaudeville house and off Broadway Theatre. For me Union Square Theatre was special. When I took a theatre class last semester, I had to hand in review papers. But, I missed one review, and fortunately, I had  chance and get a ticket for the show from the professor that was ’39 Steps’. And I watched the show at Union Square Theatre and I received good grade for that. So, when I went to Union Square Theatre during scavenger hunt, I felt like familiar with the theatre. I was also impressed that there are many theatric things just around us. I and Bekthosh found 6 or 7places and others in our group found 14poitns of places in a hour. Before this experience, I used to think that for watching theatric things had to go theatre and pay money. But now I know, Theatre is not an expensive and payable, it is just near us. It was great experience for me.

When subway opened at 42 and Broadway, Times Square became soon as  the fastest growing areas. Do you think that is there any relationship that many of theaters have been existed in that place?

In the story of A Doll House, Nora kind of suddenly turns to decide to leave her husband and children for discover who she is even husband tries to persuade her not to leave. What purpose does the author try to show for the audience through the A Doll House?Is it related with the situation of women at tht time? And is it kind of about the women’s right?

I was interested in “Six Characters in Search of an Author” by Pirandello. In this play, six fictional characters show up in reality to find author to write play for them. They are family and there are Father, Mother, Step-daughter, Son, Boy,  and Child. Pirandello shows taboo in this play by crazy relationship between characters. For example, Father meets Step-daguther in a borthel. The play ends with horrible situation that boy committs suicide by revolver and it is confused  whether it actually happens or not. But Father crys and says “Pretence? Realty, sir, reality!” As book says, the author tries to show indifferent universe.

Circus performances had long been a part of many world cultures.Specially Circus became a popular culture during 1800s to 1900s. Why people liked to watch circus performances and what kind of circus shows were popular at that time? Did rail transport influence on improving of U.S circus culture?

During 1800’s in Europe, many of spectators and critics had nationalistic point of view. Also commercial theatres played to larger and more popular audiences, theatrical stars were seemed to have power to reflect glory on nation. Did any actors performed for nationalism? For example, actor T.P Cooke, why did he performed as an English seaman?

Term of Melodrama was started in French in 18centuries. And there are difference between 18th and 19th’s melodrama. What are different characteristics between two centuries’ melodrama, and what was the main factor for difference?

It was my first time to vist Museum of the City of New york, and I was impressed by many exhibitions. Through the Yeddish Theatre section, I watched many things specially costumes are interesting. Moreover, in another room, it shows many historical things in New York. There are many pictures that people protested after 9/11. And, I also saw the paper that shows Women’s right long time ago. It was a good experience to learn about many historical things.

I saw the NYPL website through our class, and It was my first time to visit NYPL. Library building is not much large as I expected and it was very interested for me because like small library building provides a lot of information.  Doug showed  how to look or find information even performance and photos about 50years ago. Moreover, through he’s guide of using online archive, I learned little bit about how to fine online resources, and I feel that it is going to be helpful when I research the paper.
