Critical Question #3
In the reading it stated that the Buddhist practice in Japanese culture had rituals honoring ancestors, the Greeks had something similar to this. Did the dead ancestors get anything special out of these rituals or is it just a commemoration?
The Bacchae
One of the reasons the people of Greece enjoyed the performances was to please there Gods and the stories that are told are to spread there message. I have noticed most religions try not to imitate there God or Gods because they feel it is disrespectful. I find it interesting how each culture has its own point of views.
Critical Question # 2
It is interesting to learn about the Greeks and their rituals. Technology today is far more advanced compared to ancient Greek, how did they advertise and have such a huge rally of people for the festivals they hold for honoring the dead?

Critical Question #1
After reading Contrabrand I started to compare society back then to society today. My question is, even if people change and become more liberal will the culture behind there existence be affected in anyway? It makes you wonder what is going on in history and in present day society.
