“Anaglyph” is an exploration of duality in the streets of New York City. Through a set of vignettes captured around Lower Manhattan, the viewer is invited to bisect the way they experience the city they live in. The piece focuses on contrasts and contradictions, and it codes its message through the use of red and cyan hue. The analogy here is employed in an attempt to reveal a truly three-dimensional portrayal of New York. Slowly, the criteria for two distinct categories are vaguely unfolded, culminating in the collapse of the piece’s main narrative device, and the reveal of its namesake.
