For the portrait video project one I wanted to capture the peace and tranquility that is the Queens Unisphere. I wanted to focus on different times during the day and capture the different angles and what individuals are doing around the globe. The water jets unfortunately drown out all the other sound but you do hear the children playing, the ice cream truck, planes passing by, and also other sounds. It was slightly difficult to focus on what type of angles and how I wanted to record the Unisphere. However, by the time the evening rolled around I had more opportunity to play with the angles since there was only a few people around. I would have loved to get a shot that was much further away not only at night, but during the day in order to hear the difference of sounds around the area.
I also realized that sometimes you might miss a great shot and how frustrating that will be. I set up a decent angle and once I was done and walked away four fighter jets passed right by above the globe, and I was upset that I was already on the move to shoot a different angle. I love the contrast between night and day. It makes the object appear different in a way, or maybe the space it occupies gives it that effect.
