Jamie: The sprinkle sound effect matches the concept of magic on your project, how you came about to add this sound?
Thonny: I was searching for a sound that perfectly express the concept of magic and I did not feel comfortable at first with this sprinkle sound. But I noticed that this sound varied in certain seconds so I cut those variations and mix them to get a very deep and effective sound effect that finally communicates magic.
Jamie: When I watch your video, I can think of it in context to the rubber band project that one of our classmates did because it has a mystical quality. What were your inspirations for making this work?
Thonny: Most of the time people is busy at work and school and there is no time for socializing at all. That is why I decided to create and event in life where a magic cube can make anything you wish to come true (in this case the wish is love)
Jamie: I would describe the tempo of how you sequence clips as a little slow – calm pace. How does your use of sound add or contrast to that?
Thonny: The main point of my project is to communicate loneliness and an unexpected turn in life. That is why I picked as a background sound a guitar that is being playing slow in order to make it feed with the sad scene of someone being lonely. I also think that at the beginning the scene is to slow that is why I will apply so changes to create a more effective message.
Jamie: I’m particularly interested in how you used the camera by circling around the kiss. Can you tell me why you did this?
Since they were kissing I decided to add some camera movement to appreciate more the passion that a kiss scene always express and the magic cube that is being hold in the main character’s hand. It is impressive how one-way movement can make a scene being stronger in stablishing the point which is an unexpected kiss as a result of a wish.
