American Collage

This concept started out as a comical take on the serious issues facing the country during this contentious election season. However, after last Tuesday’s result, it grew to be more of a response and reaction. I wanted to use this piece to highlight the absurdity of elections, from the mid 1900’s to now. The audio featured is remixed campaign speeches from the past election with other bits of audio from memorable election ads from the past (Kennedy’s catchy jingle, the Daisy countdown, and Morning Again in America). I wanted to show how some things may never change in American politics, and that no matter how crazy things may seem, we can still survive it.
