Response 2

In “Dream House as Prologue”, the author use the word “impenetrable” to describe silence. And the author mentions that”Gaps where people never see themselves or find information about themselves.” It shows that people were suffering for many reasons such as violence or abuse, but it is hard to prove evidence if criminals are not been recorded.

In”You Left Out the Part About …”, the author mentions erasure as well,”I am reminded of the English professor last year who, responding to Huckleberry Finn’s widespread banishment from public schools, was compelled to offer the Mark Twain classic, minus the nigger parts.”

In my opinion, l think these two essay are all emphasize on how people try to erasure  some history in the past, which is not helpful for people to learn how to bravely fight injustice and violence in their lives. Although these two essay are talking about different communities. But they are all try to arouse people’s concerns to someone who are marginalized and suffering.
