Take a closer look at the article “Advice for New Students From Those Who Know (Older Students).”

Looking at a few of the subheadings, choose 2 students from each one and comment on their advice in at least 5 sentences.

All in all, you will be referring to 6 students, so you will write at least 30 sentences.

Finally, take a look at the answers of the other students in our class and comment on 6 of them, hitting the “reply” button.

These comments can be of any length.

In this way, we can use Discussion Board to have a discussion outside of class.

1. Under the first subheading “Extend Yourself,” some practical advice is given by students Grace, Ria, Megan, Casey and Asad. Refer to two students whose advice was most meaningful for you and explain why in at least 5 sentences.

2. Under “Be Yourself,” Shivani, Brittanie, and Tom stress the importance of feeling good about yourself. Choose two students whose words resonate with you on this most important topic of self-esteem and discuss your thoughts in at least 5 sentences.

3. Under “Tend to Yourself,” Sangepu, Michaela, Shelby, Annalisa, and Justine focus on ways to take good care of yourself during your college years. Choose two students whose advice you are drawn to and explain why in at least 5 sentences.

When you are done, don’t forget to read and comment on your classmates’ responses. If not enough people have done the assignment when you finish yours, don’t forget to go back and check as the due date approaches so that you can reply to at least six students.
