Quotation Analysis

First and foremost I decided to go with an FDR quote. Because I knew that not only was it one of my favorite quotes, but something that I knew I could be flexible with. The quote was, “Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.” I went for images that depicted abstractness as well as slight resemblance to a sort of creative/happiness aspect.  For a quote like this, I was more drawn to Baskerville. It has more class to what I was trying to convey in my image, and matched it fairly enough.

I learned that the order of type: direction, size, and even the color was important. An image is an image and it is the foundation and base of the project, but the type was the cherry on top. It was indeed frustrating, as to some might find the image display amazing and others don’t. It was all about delivering the (quote)message, without the image destroying the quote.
