7 Day Code Switching

Day 1- The first day I code-switched was when I got home from school. The way I was talking in school and the way I communicated with my professor were far more formal and filtered. At home, I was able to speak more comfortably and basically be free to say a lot more than if I was talking to my professor

Day 2: The second day I noticed I code-switched was when I went to work and I was talking to my boss, the way I communicate with my boss and my co-workers was really shown. I was speaking with more respect to my professor and I was just talking as friends with my co-worker

Day 3: On day 3 I code-switched when I went to the doctor. I was being formal with him and answering his questions the best I could so he could help me with my problems

Day 4: I saw one of my old friends from high school but we never knew each other like that so we just had small talk and went our ways.

Day 5: My cousin came to my house for the weekends and the way I communicated with him was informal because we had known each other our whole lives and we were very close

Day 6: When I went to the dealership to speak to the salesperson I was respectful and formal, I even tried to make some jokes to lower the price of the car but it didn’t work so I just left

Day 7: I came home from school and met up with my brother we have been around each other almost all our lives so I was informal with him and I just said whatever came to my mind because we are very comfortable with each other and have freedom of speech.
