Isolationism cuts us off from the world overseas, but trades overseas are a big part of our economy. Oversea trades make up about 30 percent of our gross domestic product from a combination of foreign trade and investment from abroad. Another thing is if we wish to stay secure at home we will need to be involved oversea. The U.S alone can’t stop terrorist attacks like 9/11 from occurring. But if the U.S was to lead other countries they can put a stop to such terrorist attacks together. Another key thing is that the U.S once believed in Isolationism and did cut themselves off from the rest of the world. However this did not end well for the U.S and lead to the Great Depression in the 1920s and 1930s. Cutting ourselves from the world will have its consequences without the U.S working together with other countries terrorist attacks will be harder to deal with and our economy will have a harder time standing alone.
