At Baruch, there are many resources that students have access to, be it STARR search, the Writing Center, library data bases, and the SACC center. I, myself, have visited these places and learned that they are wonderful resources in which can help me throughout my upcoming years. The writing center has helped me write essays and revise them, allowing me to better my own english language skills. Besides these resources, there were many clubs that i could have joined. However, I did not join any of them because I wanted to make a smooth transition into my college career. As for the coming semesters, I do plan on joining a club to enrich my college experience.
Throughout my first semester, my group and I have been working on a community service project, and we intend to serve at the Father’s Heart Ministries during our next semester. We chose this non-profit organization because it supports the community as a whole, providing many programs for the needy and homeless; these programs include services such as youth/gang prevention and hunger prevention. Although it will be my first time volunteering at the Father’s Heart Ministry, it is not the first time that I have participated in these services and I look forward to serving and continuing to serve at the Father’s Heart Ministries throughout my next few years.
Besides utilizing my resources and perks as an honors student, I also want to travel around the world. Recently, i found out more details to the study abroad program, and I am considering utilizing this program within my next three years at Baruch. I am considering traveling to France, London, China or even Japan for a whole semester, in order to broaden my world view.
But hey. that’s going to happen in two or three years, so for now, i’ll slowly work on my studies and build up towards those goals.
