Sports Being Played Off The Field?

For years sports have been played strictly on the field, and required players to be in top physical condition. But the tides have been changing. Lately there has been a surge of the phenomenon knows as “E-Sports”. E-sports, or Electronic Sports, are strictly played on the computer and take hours of training and learning the game to master. One of the more prominent teams known as Evil Geniuses, or EG, are regarded as the Yankees of the E-Sports world. Teams will often buy a house and fill it with computers. This makes it much easier for a team to work together and practice, knowing that they will always be in the same house allows for them to coordinate. Teams and players will often practice for up to 14 hours a day, because demanding physical activity is no longer required. Teams are now getting sponsors from prominent companies such as Papa Johns, Intel and eBAy, which help fund and solidify it as a sport. The game of LEague of Legends is probably the biggest of all E-Sports. Just recently they hosted the World Championships in LA at the world famous Staples Center. The entire Staples Center sold out in roughly under and hour, proving that the Electronic revolution of sports, is real.
