As I listened to A House Divided by Immigration Status
It puts me in a weird spot because what Mariam is going through is basically how I was living. I was undocumented, and then DACA happened, and I had no help for school, and now DACA students have been impacted due to that. Mariam speaks about how her Spanish isn’t as fluent as she perfected her English. I also lack on my Spanish due to perfecting my English.
In the article “Separating children from their parents at the border breaks my heart,” People all around the world are against the zero-tolerance. The immigration system isn’t working. The former first lady also believes that this is totally wrong. There are other ways to protect the country without separating families. Making them feel like they are not human beings is unacceptable.

Is it wrong not to be able to speak the language the country desires you to speak?
