The Woman Behind the Scenes:
Alicea Ulmer is a 21 year old student-athlete at Baruch College majoring in journalism and double minoring in communications and psychology. She balances heavy journalistic deadlines, and basketball practices all the while commuting to and from Baruch. The commute from Staten island varies from 45min to an hour depending on the Staten Island Ferry Schedule and the Subway schedule.

This blog will focus exclusively on life as a commuter student. The post will look to highlight some positives about attending a commuter school, as well as speak to several students about obstacles they face everyday as they commute to school.
