3D Printed Ukulele

This project was a lot less creative than the piano, but just as unique.

Using a public access file on Thingiverse, I exported the .stl’s of the full ukulele. Due to size constraints of the build plate on my MakerBot Replicator+, I had to print the full body and neck in four different parts, each piece ranging from 5-8 hours in print time, and simply super glue it all together.

I purchased the tuning mechanisms and the nylon strings on Amazon and strung them together, and now Baruch’s MakerHub has its first PLA acoustic instrument!

The sound is a bit rough and the strings got out of tune easily in the beginning, but it does its job.
