What’s Your Personal Lore?

This teaching material was developed as a result of the CUNY 1969 Teach-in & Retreat that took place in Summer 2024. The assignment asks students to research their family or community history and contextualize their personal lore within a collective inheritance of 1960s and ’70s-era protest in the United States.

Faculty Information

Isabel Ortiz (PhD) is a former adjunct lecturer in English at CUNY Baruch and City College. She is a fellow at the Center for Humanistic Inquiry at Amherst College, where she works at the intersection of American Studies, English, and Film and Media Studies.
