The big challenge that conflicting norms of doing business across countries represent for global companies and the difficulty of dealing with the extra-territoriality reach of home country laws.  one of the most common contemporary occurrences of this conflict – paying bribes in countries where this is a common way of conducting business, a practice that is outlawed by all developed countries.

Note that RR initiated the inquiry itself, i.e., people at HQs did not know about this practice taking place in subsidiaries around the world. typical to most such cases
