In the past few months media started to talk less about guns and instead the topic of climate change has been all over the media and social media. The legislative and the NRA are hiding behind the spotlight of climate change. However, we should not forget about about gun control. It is as important as saving our planet because both issues affects the future generation. This future generation includes us.
In the article called “In Florida, Push for Strict New Gun Ban,” published in The Wall Street Journal by Arian Campo-Flores and Zusha Elinson, talks about how Florida which is a Republican state is putting tons of pressure on banning semiautomatic riffles. Flores and Ellison state that people do not need to have large guns in order protect themselves. They bring in the statistics from the mass shootings in 2018. Thus, showing how the increase of guns have also increased shootings.
The publishing of this article is really important because, people stopped talking about guns and it is allowing companies like NRA and the president to keep the same legislative and make it about business instead of the people. The media needs to cover more stories about guns so that both climate change and gun control can be the main focus and pressure the people on the top to change policies and laws.

I honestly feel that when it comes to the news channel reporting about guns it becomes a cycle that can’t be stopped. It’s always the same story over and over and they really can’t do nothing about except say the statistical numbers and their own opinions about gun control. I believe there should be change to stop guns from being passed around so much ,but the way this country is setup it’s impossible because how easy it is to go and purchase a gun. Regarding the issue of climate control , that has been a thing that’s been going for many years and when it’s reported many people want to do things from lowering the risks of the planet becoming toxic from the things they’ve been doing for awhile now. Yes there have been many steps taken to lowering pollution, but yet again people continue to go back to their old ways and also complete this never ending cycle of saying something, taking action, forgetting the point of their work, then finally returning back to saying something once it’s brought up back in the news. No one really cares about gun laws and climate change, because history has been known to continuously repeat itself in many different ways and when it happens the situation is also getting worse than before. The way it’s become to easy to get an firearm into your home without question is becoming absurd, 14 year old white boys can easily walk into a gun exchange somewhere in the south and purchase a firearm without having the seller ask for proof of ID to verify there age. Next thing you know he’s a school shooter and people are claiming he has mental issues and etc, do you see how easily people get these weapons and argue about the importance of change? The end result from this has been shown that no change has been made at all.
