“Hustle” Netflix movie
I selected a scene from the Netflix movie “Hustle”. I am highlighting how this specific scene is my favorite scene from the movie because Bo Cruz the main character is training to become an NBA prospect and at first the training is hard but as time progresses it gets easier and stars to click, while the rest is history. I find the message of the scene noteworthy because it connects to myself as a basketball player that in order to really reach a high level you got to go above and beyond in order to reach your goals, in other words if you wanna be a champion you got to train like a champion. So this movie made me want to go into my workouts with a go hard 100% of the time mentality. For some people it doesn’t even have to be sports it can be something else like an artist, graphic designer, a doctor, a first responder, a business manager…etc.
Introduction- Ricardo Bogota (Rico)
Hello, I am Ricardo. Feel free to call me Rico if you want to, my nickname has been starting to become more popular than my government name. I am from Elmhurst, Queens. I grew up there my whole life, that’s where I made most of my friends and made most of my memories. I am a Colombian American, it took me a while to come to terms with my roots since I was brainwashed with the “Americanized” mentality so I am still in the process of embracing my Colombian side but have made good progress. The college life here at Baruch has been very different but something I was very looking forward to. I wanted to meet new people and make new friends which I feel like I have done so far and looking to keep going. I am very social. I love talking to people a lot. I feel like I am an all around cool and down to earth person with a good sense of humor and very understanding with one another. which is why I chose my major as Psychology because of my ability and my mindset to formulate with other individuals. I am confident I can do it pretty well but can use some improvements. My main hobbies right now is I play basketball a lot, so through my life I played a lot of sports but when I picked up a basketball I automatically fell in love and told myself I wanna play at a high level such as college-pro level, I take this as a big part of my identity because it’s what I do, it’s my life right now I love doing it a lot and I am looking on to getting 1% better every day. Basketball is what created me today because it has kept me on the right path, motivated me to be good in school, create good habits for myself on and off the court and overall be a good human being.
