Hello, I am Ricardo. Feel free to call me Rico if you want to, my nickname has been starting to become more popular than my government name. I am from Elmhurst, Queens. I grew up there my whole life, that’s where I made most of my friends and made most of my memories. I am a Colombian American, it took me a while to come to terms with my roots since I was brainwashed with the “Americanized” mentality so I am still in the process of embracing my Colombian side but have made good progress. The college life here at Baruch has been very different but something I was very looking forward to. I wanted to meet new people and make new friends which I feel like I have done so far and looking to keep going. I am very social. I love talking to people a lot. I feel like I am an all around cool and down to earth person with a good sense of humor and very understanding with one another. which is why I chose my major as Psychology because of my ability and my mindset to formulate with other individuals. I am confident I can do it pretty well but can use some improvements. My main hobbies right now is I play basketball a lot, so through my life I played a lot of sports but when I picked up a basketball I automatically fell in love and told myself I wanna play at a high level such as college-pro level, I take this as a big part of my identity because it’s what I do, it’s my life right now I love doing it a lot and I am looking on to getting 1% better every day. Basketball is what created me today because it has kept me on the right path, motivated me to be good in school, create good habits for myself on and off the court and overall be a good human being.

Hey Ricardo, I’m a big fan of sports too. But I prefer to play soccer more. I like to play any sport as long as it keeps me active. I’m looking forward to getting to know you.
