Thoughts on “Mother Tongue”

One thing I found interesting in the text “Mother Tongue” is the author’s initial words, “ I was keenly made aware of the different Englishes I do use.” She then goes on to explain her mother’s “broken version” of English and how she is able to understand her mother but others would judge her limited English. This is something that most children of immigrants can easily relate to and have an idea of.
