This Text discusses how emotions are directly related to self-love and self-esteem, especially during your teenage years. The study talks about how each different emotion fluctuates and how it makes each teenager change the outlooks that they have on themselves. The text also dives into how teenagers deal with their emotions and that depending on their reaction to those emotions it can affect their relationship with themselves. This text is relevant to the topic of my paper because it covers one of the most important things in one’s adolescence which are emotions, and it also explains how it connects to self-love and self-esteem.

This study looks at how siblings employ self-disclosure between each other, mostly regarding their bodies during their teenage years. Self disclosure will only happen if the siblings feel like their relationship is a safe space. The authors of this study focused on how teenagers talking about themselves with their siblings affect their relationship and how tit affects self-love within one’s body. This is important for my research because it takes a different perspective into how family relationships can affect self-love in a teenagers life.

The article discusses the concepts of self-concept, self-esteem, and self-image, and how they evolve through different stages of life. Self-concept is defined as an “individual’s perception of themselves”, influenced by factors like age, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. It also focuses on self-esteem, which refers to one’s sense of self-worth, and self-image, encompassing both physical and mental self-perception. This article is important for my research paper because it simplifies the many concepts related to self-love.

This article talks about the many factors that affect one’s relationship with themselves. The article covers factors like social media, discrimination, gender roles, and many other things. The added pressure from society but also the parents of teenagers has a huge impact on self-love and self-esteem. This is crucial to my research paper because it touches on some of the most sensitive factors when it comes to self-love and its development.

This article discusses how self-love and self-esteem are usually steady  but can change during the school year. The study focuses on a group of 250 polish teenagers and tests them how they saw themselves in different aspects during a year and a half. The study showed how each different individual changed their view on themselves throughout the year. This is essential to my research paper because it focuses on how something as crucial as school affects one’s self love and self esteem.

This article discusses how teenagers see themselves is really important for their mental health and social well-being. This article talks about how self-esteem affects our goals, relationships, and overall health. Good self-esteem can protect us and improve our health and behavior, while low self-esteem is linked to mental disorders and social problems like depression, anxiety, violence, and substance abuse. This is essential to my research paper because it shows how self-love is linked to mental health development and how it can lead to many things both good and bad.
