Remix Pitch

For my multimedia project i will be making a video on how technology is affecting our learning abilities. I will provide facts from the past and present. I was also thinking of drawing our my storyboard, but I’m not quite sure yet. Im still brain storming on how to combine my thesis into my video. So far i’ve come up with, drawing out a computer and zooming into the scree to start off the video. Im excited for this project, It’s challenging but i like getting creative.

Remix Project Pitch

For my project I;m going to make a mini-documentary.  I’ve always loved documentaries and I feel that the nature of my paper (writing about college affordability) lends itself well to the documentary form.  I was inspired by the one presentation Professor Blankenship showed us about race in Hollywood.  I’m going to try to find either documentary or lecture clips that I can use as voiceovers, and maybe even do a voice over of my own.  I would like it to be both informative and persuasive, both sharing facts about the issue of college affordability and sharing my interpretations of those facts.

Remix Pitch

For the remix I would like to do a video either on iMovie or another software that makes animated videos. I plan on using pictures and bits of videos from youtube that show the importance of having a balanced education. I would show how formal and informal education are different and how they work well together.

Remix Pitch

I would like to do a video on iMovie for my remix project. I can take videos from Youtube of different schools with a  dual curriculum to best show it, and I think I would do voice-over. I would make it on one hand, a contrast between the two languages, but on the other hand, show how they are used together

Remix Pitch

In order to best present my argument I think a podcast may be the way to go. In a podcast, I can incorporate the ideas and the statistics that I used in my paper but I also have the freedom to expand on my general topic with more personal recounts that relate to my project as well as to bring others’ opinions in for a different perspective. I think having another individual on the podcast would create an even stronger case as it incorporates more than one point of view into the discussion.

Remix Pitch-Michal Jacobs

For my remix project, I am planning on making a 3D shadow box. In the shadow box, I want to put images representing my family’s dedication to the Jewish traditions, holidays, and religious observances. The shadow box will depict Jewish immigration from Europe starting at the turn of the century and will show how my family became more involved in establishing an Orthodox life through their involvement with Jewish organizations, schools, synagogues and Israel related organizations. I will include personal photos, treasured pieces passed down through my family, and any other family and religious meaningful artifacts I find.

Remix Pitch

For this creative assignment, I want to transform my paper into a video presentation, that would probably take a much simpler approach (less wordy, more pictures) than the approach our papers had. In my case specifically, my paper was an argumentative narrative, that focused a lot on my personal story. I would probably introduce the idea of immigration paradox, then slowly introduce the thesis or point of my video and then I would support it with the reasoning I used in my paper (so in a way it would follow along with my paper, just in a hopefully smoother, simpler, and more graphic way). All throughout, I think I would do a voice-over and use lots of pictures (of groups of people and perhaps my own own family as well). I’m not so tech-savvy so I’m not so sure how well I will be able to present the ideas I have in mind, but I’ll be using the resources (like flickr and vimeo) to help me get there!

Remix Pitch

For my remix project, I would like to make a video on iMovie. I will use many pictures, and less of words. I hope in the end my thesis is fully expressed. My audience in this case would be anyone, unlike my narrative piece, which is mainly focused on students. The difficulty that I will encounter is choosing what picture fits and deciding if I want sound or not. I would show two different sides of the coin: how some people might think Asians is the ‘Model Minority’, leading them to be successful. However, it is not all that simple. They work hard and make sacrifices. People should not have stereotypes against a certain group of people.
