3. I think ‘pretending’ played the role of hiding Dina’s true self throughout her college life. She started by lying to the psychiatrist, she didn’t want him to know how her ‘real’ life was because she thought it wasn’t normal. Dina’s ‘pretending’ was her way of feeling normal and hiding her life from everyone else would she believes would judge her.
