One word that I had to look up from Anderson’s essay is gluttony. The definition of gluttony is habitual greed or excess in eating.
One line that made me smile was “It is a question that predates the pandemic, of course, and probably has a prosaic answer — some proprietary formula hidden under fluorescent lights in a flavor laboratory in New Jersey.” This made me laugh because I have an inside joke with one of my friends about factories make us become addicted to fast food or junk food.
If I were assigned to write a love letter essay on a particular food it would be cupcakes. I have had so many fun moments that involved cupcakes. I also feel like cupcakes taste like literal heaven.
