When I was little shrimps never called my attention and I haded the thought of eating this creature from the ocean. As I started getting older, I had started to be more curious about food tasting and trying new things because I could not be a picky eater all my life. I had not liked shrimp, but the problem was that I’ve never tasted it. One day, I remember my mom making shrimp alfredo pasta and the smell of this food was heavenly. It was this day that I had wanted to stop being so picky and try to see what this shrimp was about. I took a bite and I felt like my taste buds were dancing in excitement. I then understood that in order for me to like certain foods I would have to actually have them. My love for shrimp has grown ever since.
For this food review I have decided to look at an article on the website, Healthline.com, where there is an article revolving around the topic of shrimps and how beneficial or bad they, are for you. I found this reading very interesting because it mainly spoke about the many effects it has on humans and I learned interesting things I had not known before about shrimps. The article states, “It is quite nutritious and provides high amounts of certain nutrients, such as iodine, that aren’t abundant in many other foods.” This was interesting to me because Shrimp is high in nutrients and this is beneficial to humans in the ways that other foods don’t really have this type of nutrients. There are also negative effects to eating shrimp. It says, “Many people fear foods that are high in cholesterol due to the belief that they increase the cholesterol in your blood, and thus promote heart disease.” These negative effects towards people with this health issue are not beneficial because they can make a person’s cholesterol rise higher and lead to other worst outcomes.
Hi Samantha,
I found this very interesting because shrimp is one of my favorite kinds of seafood. I did not know about the nutritional aspect of it prior to this.
Hey Samatha,
I found this really interesting and relatable, just like you when I was little I used to judge food by its looks. If it looked weird to me or not good I wouldn’t even dare to try it but after so many years of my brother insisting me to try shrimp I did and I honestly fell in love with it. I actually as well didn’t know it had this nutritious properties that help us a lot or can hurt us sometimes.
Hi Samantha,
This post was so interesting! I don’t like shrimp at all. But after reading your review I might just give it another try since I enjoy eating nutritional foods.
